Footings and Foundations

Work on the project continues to move along well. Footings and foundation walls are currently being installed, and the Independent Living wing is now complete. With that milestone reached, work has officially begun in the Town Square, which will serve as the main lobby of the building. The EV site work team has been busy excavating and backfilling to support ongoing concrete work. As foundations are placed, underground electrical and plumbing installations follow closely behind the concrete crews to keep progress moving efficiently.

Another exciting milestone is the completion of the first CMU (Concrete Masonry Unit) stair tower in the Independent Living wing. The masonry team started in the northernmost corner of the wing and is now working on the first CMU elevator shaft, which is expected to be finished within the next week. Several trade partners are actively working onsite, including Kent Companies, DHE, Feyen Zylstra, and Integrated Exteriors. Many additional partners are also preparing behind the scenes so they’re ready to mobilize as their work begins.

Kent Companies deserves special recognition for its efforts this winter. Despite an early start to snow and freezing temperatures, they’ve continued pouring concrete and adapting to challenging conditions. They’ve been onsite since mid-May, completing curbs and sidewalks throughout the property, and their strong communication with the project team has helped keep the project moving forward smoothly.
